Molasses Suite Poetry: Selection-I Remember
I remember dream cycles and dill
pickles.
Pitching pennies and flipping nickels.
Basketball courts and bicycles.
Asphalt streets filled with
kickballers.
Fruity cereal and milk to make me
taller.
She gave me her number should I call
her.
Hopscotch sidewalks filled with chalk.
Hot summer days and long walks.
Radio shows that did nothing but talk.
Cartoon premiers on Saturday mornings.
New Years fireworks and Christmas
awnings.
The rising sun of a new day dawning.
House parties whether crashing or
invited.
The unwrapping of a gift getting so
excited.
First kiss on the lips feeling so
delighted.
Cracker Jack prizes and sticky fingers.
Sunday dinners and the sweet smells
that lingered.
French kissing ho ho's Twinkies, and
zingers.
Hula hoops yoyo's and Frisbee tossing.
Big brothers and sisters being so
bossy.
Tongue twisters and riddles, ooh wait
you lost me.
Can you think of three lines to add to
this number?
Between New Years Day, until the last
night of December.
Trips down memory lane. Wow, I
remember.
